1 - The Thaumaturge: Is there an open world? - FAQ - The Thaumaturge - game guide
  1. The Thaumaturge isn't a game in which you freely travel around an open world map, in a similar way to RPGs such as Skyrim or The Witcher 3.
  2. The game world was divided into locations, including Warsaw. They are then divided into smaller individual maps, which can represent, for instance, various city districts.
  3. When traveling across a given map, you may discover travel points to adjacent areas (the fast travel mechanics are explained on the How to use fast travel? page) as well as entrances to smaller locations. These consist primarily of the interiors of chosen buildings.
  4. Wiktor cannot enter every building. Only a few of them enable this and can offer extra exploration or be connected to main or side quests.
  5. The game doesn't immediately provide access to all areas in the game world. You will gradually gain access to them as you advance in the main plot and move on to the next stages of the adventure. You can revisit uncovered locations, for instance to begin new quests or collect overlooked collectibles.
